Agrestis Soc. Coop. Agricola

Agrestis was born in Buccheri, a small town in the inland of Syracuse, Sicily. Giuseppe
Paparone and Lorenzo Nicotra, close friends residing in Buccheri, founded the
cooperative in 2003 to protect the numerous centuries-old olive trees that were
growing in the nearby, now abandoned, countryside. For years, Agrestis has received
significant awards both at national and international levels, acknowledging the quality
of the extra virgin olive oil produced from the prestigious “Tonda Iblea” olive variety of
the Monti Iblei.
