WE ARE HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THE 6th EDITION OF THE
JOOP DESIGN AWARD
AS PART OF THE 14th EDITION OF JOOP.
Starting from 2020 along with the qualitative awards the competition decided to award also producers who have committed with passion to communicate the identity of their product through the logo, the bottling, and the packaging: all very important details in a market like the Japanese one. This award wishes to bring to the attention of producers the importance of paring a good product with an appealing brand identity.
The panel of the jury for the 6th JOOP DESIGN AWARD is comprised of some of the most prestigious names in the field of design and architecture from the most represented countries of the competition and the hosting one.

JASPER MORRISON
UNITED KINGDOM
Known for his ‘Super Normal’ approach to design, Jasper Morrison looks to find the exceptional in the world of the ordinary. In his work in furniture, lighting, electrical products and tableware, he strives to create good examples of understated, useful and responsible design. Born in London in 1959, he studied at Kingston Polytechnic, the Royal College of Art, and at Berlin’s HdK. In 1986 he opened his Office for Design in London. From there he continues to work for manufacturers worldwide on a broad range of projects. He has published several books with Lars Müller Publishers, including A World Without Words, The Good Life, A Book of Things and Super Normal (with Naoto Fukasawa) .

CECILIE MANZ
DENMARK
Cecilie Manz, designer, born 1972 in Denmark.
Educated at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts - The School of Design in 1997
including exchange studies at Aalto University in Helsinki. Own studio in Copenhagen since
1998. Here, Cecilie Manz designs furniture, tableware, lighting and electronics. In addition
to industrial manufactured products, experimental prototypes and sculptural one-offs make
up an important part of her work and approach.
Works with Duravit, Fritz Hansen, Bang&Olufsen, Fredericia Furniture, Iittala, Muuto, Nils
Holger Moormann, Nikari, Vibia, 1616 Arita Japan, Maruni, Hermès, Kasthall and others.

FABIO FILIPPINI
ITALY
FABIO FILIPPINI (Ghislarengo, VC, 1963) is an Italian car designer, graduated in Architecture at Milan Polytechnic. In his professional career, he has collaborated with RENAULT, AUDI-VW Group and many other international car manufacturers, designing numerous show cars, production cars and other means of transport. Chief Creative Officer at PININFARINA from 2011 to 2017, he has lived in Tokyo since 2018 where he established ACCAEFFE Creative Consulting, working on car design and design strategy for clients all over the world. In 2023 he created a digital concept car for BVLGARI, introduced in the GRANTURISMO 7 video game and associated with a limited-edition chronograph by the prestigious Italian luxury brand. Honorary judge in international Concours d’Elegance and author of the book CURVE – 15 Lezioni sul Car Design, published by Rizzoli-Lizard, Fabio Filippini received the honour of “Cavaliere della Stella d’Italia”, for his contribution and enhancement of Italian creativity abroad.

GO HASEGAWA
JAPAN
Go Hasegawa is an architect who holds a Doctor of Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, where he also served as a visiting professor. He is the principal of Go Hasegawa & Associates and has held visiting professor positions at the Accademia di architettura di Mendrisio, the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD).
