We are happy to announce the first edition of the JOOP DESIGN AWARD as part of the 8th edition of JOOP.

Starting from 2020 along with the qualitative awards the competition will award also producers who have committed with passion in communicating the identity of their product through the logo, the bottling and the packaging: all very important details in a market like the Japanese one. This award wishes to bring to the attention of producers the importance of paring a good product with an appealing brand identity.

The panel of the jury for the first JOOP DESIGN AWARD is comprised of some of the most prestigious names in the field of design and architecture from the most represented countries of the competition and the hosting one.

Kengo Kuma has designed architectural works in over twenty Countries and received prestigious awards including the Architectural Institute of Japan Award, the Spirit of Nature Wood Architecture Award (Finland), and the International Stone Architecture Award (Italy).

KASHIWA SATO

JAPAN

Kashiwa, one of the world’s leading creative directors, delivers a fresh perspective of design to the world. From concept and communication strategy building to developing brand logos, his ability as a brand architect to identify, elucidate and visualize the essence of the subject is highly acclaimed in a number of fields.

MADDALENA CASADEI

ITALY

After graduating in Architecture from the University of Ferrara and in Design at Domus Academy, she became the right-hand collaborator of James Irvine for many years. Today she works as product designer, set designer and art director from her office in Milan and teaches as a guest professor in various Universities.

MARTÍ GUIXÉ

SPAIN

Formed in Barcelona and Milan as an interior and industrial designer. From 1997 he exhibits work that characterizes on the search for new product systems, introduction of design in food ambits and presentation through performance. His non-conventional gaze provides brilliant and simple ideas of a curious seriousness.

YIANNIS GHIKAS

GREECE

With his background encompassing Computer Science alongside Design, he employs functionality as the ultimate purpose of his designs while exploring their potential emotive responses. His “Monarchy” stool has received the red dot design award (2009) and the German design award (2016).
