AGRARIA RIVA DEL GARDA S.C.A.

Agraria Riva del Garda was founded as an association in 1926 to support and promote agriculture in the Alto Garda Trentino area. Over the course of four decades it evolved  rapidly: in 1957 the winery was founded, while in 1965 the oil mill was inaugurated.
Agraria Riva del Garda is, since 2000, a cooperative society based in the municipality of Riva del Garda in the province of Trento, which can count on the synergy of 300 conferring members, who use their knowledge in the production of extra virgin olive oils, selected wines and sparkling wines.

The particular microclimate of Alto Garda Trentino allows the cultivation of olives in what is the northernmost olive oil producing area in the world. Frantoio di Riva, founded in 1965 to support the growers of Lake Garda, is the first cooperative oil mill in the area. The DOP Garda Trentino denomination – born thanks to the oil mill’s efforts – was obtained in 1998, followed in 2009 by organic certification. Agraria Riva del Garda represents about 65% of Garda Trentino’s olive oil production: the olive trees managed by the cooperative number 85,000 spread over about 270 hectares of land.
