SETTE TEMPLI DOP VALLE DEL BELICE (2026)

Carmela Turnaturi farm was officially founded in 2015, though its origins date back to
1969, when Carmela’s father bought the first olive grove with savings earned after
emigrating to Australia. The farm follows eco-sustainable practices under the Sicily RDP:
integrated pest management, no herbicides or chemical weed control, and a 10 kW
photovoltaic system that helps reduce CO₂ emissions.
Production focuses on cold-pressed single-variety extra virgin olive oil “Sette Templi,”
table olives, and olive and sun-dried tomato pâtés. The farm welcomes visitors for grove
tours and guided tastings.
The 10-hectare estate includes over 2,000 trees, mainly Nocellara del Belìce, native to the
Belice Valley near Castelvetrano, an area linked to Magna Graecia and ancient oil presses
now in the Selinunte Archaeological Park. This variety holds two EU PDOs, and the farm
is a member of the Valle del Belìce DOP consortium.
